Presented without comment, because, like the social media team at the Washington DC Metro, I am 12:
Metro Ridership: As of 11am, 193k trips taken so far today. (11am 1/20/13 = 317k, 11am 1/20/09 = 513k, 11am 1/20/05 = 197k) #wmata

In other words, the US capital was busier both times Barack Obama was inaugerated. Much, much busier.
This response…
.@wmata Do you mean 1/21/13? 1/20/13 fell on a Sunday, and inauguration ceremony was moved to the next day.

…is accurate about the change in date. So the metro network issued a correction:
. CORRECTION: The 317k figure above was from 1/21/13 (Inauguration Day).

At any rate: all this means that far more people were pouring into DC on a Sunday morning than came for President Trump’s inauguration today.
Anyway, typing the words “President Trump” has depressed me so much that that’s it. That’s the story, that’s all you’re getting, I’m too depressed to do any more.
Oh sod it here’s a map.
